It’s been a blazin, fiery summer for tha Skallions, hottest on record, HOTTER THAN FIRE!!. The far reaches of Nth QLD hosted tha magnificent solar eclipse Festival, where tha Rapskallywags performed a blistering set on the World Stage to a few thousand joyous Party enthusiasts. There was a tumultuous appearance for the rogues at Harvest festival in the Brisbane Botanical Gardens, where they headlined La Boudoir, just after an epic storm had blown through tha site, an the festival was evacuated. We spent tha storm in a tiny tent backstage, knee-deep in water, toasting tha lightning with good cheer!. A good crowd reappeared for tha gig, an it was monkey business as usual. Next was a classic weekend at Folk, Rhythm, Life festival, probably one of the best events, in tha world, all hail tha Skirmer brothers, and a week later we threw a Summer of Love party, at a secret squirrel warehouse location in Brunswick, that also featured Kill Ya Darlins(Rapskallion’s sequined love child), Hoop Dogg, and Miss Friby. It was a hot steamy affair with Coconuts, and Bikini babes a-plenty!!! And what can we say about Woodford?. Gigantic, gargantuan, all consuming, a Leviathan of a Folk Festival. Tha Skallions ended up executing around nine gigs during tha fest, most if them in the early hours, and it rocked!!Thank you Woodford crowd, you’re mighty! A classic gig at the Brewery in Byron, and a strong dose of Tassie time, at the Fractangular gathering, and here we are, holed up back in Brunswick, in 37 degrees, an not a breath of wind! There are plans a-foot, we got our last Melbourne show coming up at the Northcote Social Club, on the 23rd of March, then onto Wide Open Spaces in NT, Then tha real big news is a core of us are heading to Canada and the US in June, for a bunch of festivals and gigs, so if you’re in the states or Canada, check us out, you won’t regret it!!
